How Much Will It Cost?

Costs and funding for care can be a complex topic but we can help you to navigate the various options depending on your personal circumstances.

We will undertake a preliminary care assessment and provide you with indicative costs and information on how you could reduce the cost of future care.  For example, involving Community teams to see if you are eligible for any intermediate care funding and exploring what adaptations to your home and equipment will help you to maintain your independence.

Your care could be self-funded, Social Care funded or a combination of the two:

  • Self-funded

You pay the full cost of your care

  • Social Care funding

Adult Social Care pay the full cost of your care but will only pay the cheapest amount, limiting your options on time and providers

  • Combination

You receive Social Care funding (this can be paid directly to your bank account) and top up the difference to use the care provider you want

To check if you are eligible for Social Care funding, please contact the Adult Social Care team (details below).

Adult Social Care will undertake a care and financial assessment, which will consider your income and assets.  If you chose to have care in your own home, this assessment will not include the value of your home.  The assessment also does not consider the value of your partner's income or assets.  If your income or assets are less that £23,250 (as of May 2021) then you will be eligible for means tested support. If your income and assets are above £23,250 you will have to pay the full cost of your care.
